Yes, technically Brisbane secured the 2032 Games, but we can’t undersell ourselves it was a South East Queensland bid.
When future generations assess the legacy of the 2032 Games, I want them to point to everything it was able to deliver to our region.
What we need now are ideas that are big and bold, because securing funding for these ideas is always really tough, but we have a window of opportunity to go for it.
I hope to be part of a conversation about what’s possible and encourage others to start thinking about possible legacies of the 2032 Games.
Our Council can get these big sporting ideas right and get a real return for ratepayers when we have strategic thinking and strong voices on our team.
What an opportunity the games are going to be for the Moreton Bay Region.
